Prompt #1

Technology has had a deep impact on American society and pop culture in recent years. This trend has continued as technology has become more necessary for the workforce and for social use. In comparison, the impact of technology on American education has been, so far, rather shallow. This makes sense when taking into consideration the three new R's that the "Pay Attention" video introduced. These new R's include relevance and relationship and such characteristics have always been key in education.
Technology we know of today was unheard of just some time ago, as the videos showed. In education, we must strive to protect and nurture our students thus technology has been watched with caution by educators. American society at large can afford to be a little less cautious and so technology was embraced quicker. Now that time has passed, technology has become more relevant (and applicable) to the classroom and a relationship between students and technological skills has been established as necessary for life beyond the classroom. This concludes what the videos showed; teaching must, and can effectively, include more technological aspects in the classroom.
